Following the launch of the EITI audit reports, the Ghana EITI Secretariat in collaboration with the National Steering Committees is embarking on a series of dissemination workshops with the relevant stakeholders. One of the series is a workshop with Mining Companies and the Municipal/District Assemblies within the mining enclaves. The workshop is to inform the stakeholders on the contents of the 2006, 2007 and 2008 EITI audit reports. 

Good morning to you all. I deem it a great honour to be here this morning to launch the Ghana - EITI Audit Reports for 2006, 2007 and 2008.  As some of you may know the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) is a governance tool that seeks to promote the principles of transparency and accountability in the payment and receipts of resources from the extractive sector.

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning has launched the 2006, 2007 and 2008 Ghana Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (GHEITI) Audit Reports. The Ghana EITI is a governance tool that seeks to promote the principles of transparency and accountability in the payment and receipts of resources from the extractive sector.

DAR-ES-SALAAM, 19 OCTOBER 2010.  Ghana has achieved Compliance with the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), the global standard for improved transparency in the oil, gas and mining sectors. The EITI Board designated Ghana as 'EITI Compliant' at a meeting today in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania.
